Who is Santram Maharaj?
The original Santram Maharaj was a great saint of the Avadhoot category who came to Nadiad from Girnar, so he was also known as Girnari Bava, Videhi Bava, or Sukh-Sagar Ji. Santram Maharaj came here to Natpur (now Nadiad) in Samvat 1872.
Santram Maharaj dedicated his 15-year life to advancing human spirituality and took Jivant-Samadhi on the full-moon day of the month Magha of Samvat 1887. Initially, Santram Maharaj lived in a rayan tree hollow near where the “Deri” is now called Santram Deri.
Santram Deri was the first place of Santram Maharaj’s penance in Natpur’s (Nadiad) land.
When does Santram Mandir Nadiad open and close?
Santram Mandir remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but for Avadhut Yogiraj Shree Santram Maharaj Ji Darshan, Santram Mandir is open in the morning at 6 am and closes at 11:00 am, and again open at 3:30 pm and closes at 7:00 pm.
On full moon days, the mandir remains open for the whole day.

When Santram Maharaj passed into jivat-samadhi on the full moon of the month Magha in Samvat 1887, his devotees wondered how they could be sure he would be there for them in the future for Nadiad. Then Santram Maharaj said to fill a lamp with ghee, and I will take samadhi, and my soul will go to my place. After that, these lamps will light, and Saankar and flowers will fall from the sky. The lamps lit up on their own, and it rained sugar and flowers from the sky.
Even today, Shankar (Shakkar) prasad is distributed among the devotees in the temple on the full moon of the month Magha in the form of rain.
